Out and about

Armidale Regional Council identifies off-leash exercise areas including Southern Dog Park, East Creeklands, Charlston Willows Reserve, Western Creeklands and Shambrook Avenue. Use the council information for current locations, facilities and responsibilities.
Dogs and other domestic pets are generally not permitted in NSW national parks and reserves. If the wider New England national parks are part of your plans, organise a pet-free outing and check current park alerts first.
For a heritage outing closer to town, the official Armidale Region listing says well-behaved dogs on a lead may visit the gardens at Saumarez Homestead. Confirm the current visitor arrangements before going, particularly if you plan to enter buildings or join a tour.
